Reserve a Day
You can choose to “Reserve A Day” and invest in the 100 Day Project! Perhaps 83 is your favorite number (Day 83/100), your wedding anniversary is May 29 (your weaving would be created that day), or you want to pre-collect Day 100/100 on June 1, 2026 (the last day of the series). Or perhaps you want to have a pleasant surprise to receive over the next few weeks.
Reserving a day will act as a collaborative mini-commission, where the artist (Kate) and the collector (you!) work together on certain elements of the process. If you would like to confirm with Kate that a certain day or number is available, please reach out via email to kate@lionheartcanyonstudio.com before purchasing!
Kate Laing, the artist, will:
Approve the certain number or date requested (pending availability).
Curate the fibers based on the collector’s suggested color story.
Maintain creative control over the handwoven sketch (therefore described as “weaving” for clarity) itself, allowing her hands and the fibers to work together in creative intuition.
Honor the size of the weaving (approximately 5×7 inches) in consistency to the other artworks in the 100 Day Project.
You, as the collector, will be able to:
Request a certain number or date to reserve (pending availability).
Suggest the color story for the piece, and approve the curated fibers before the weaving process begins.
Approve the weaving before it is removed from the loom (photo documentation will be sent to you).
Choose the final display style (three options).
Hang the fiber element with a simple nail in the wall.
Mount on a 5×7 birch wood panel (Kate will securely attach the weaving to the panel for added structure, covering most of the wooden panel’s surface) — additional cost.
Mount on an 8×10 birch wood panel for an ethereal framed effect (Kate will securely attach the weaving to the panel for added structure, showing a border of the birch wood around the fiber).
The weavings/handwoven sketches for this series are one-of-a-kind original works, and will come with a signed certificate of authenticity. These explorations are meant to be more sculptural, playing with texture and form even after the weaving is removed from the tension of the loom.
