“Connected to the Earth” was handwoven by artist Kate Laing with Pendleton wool, recycled sari silk, handtorn velvet, locally dyed wool roving, metallic copper cord, embellished braided cotton cord, vintage fiber, and recycled cotton cord. The branch was ethically and legally foraged in the Arizona desert. There is a small cherry wood tag, signed Lionheart Canyon, sewn onto the back of the weaving as the artist’s signature.
This is considered a textural small wall hanging, perfect for displaying on a gallery wall along with other pieces of artwork, or a small space. Recommended display is with gallery lighting or natural sunlight, to ensure the color story is shining any time of day.
